GENERAL PUROSE OF THE JOB:
The world of Healthcare is changing constantly, your responsibility will be to ensure DaVita International’s compliance with all Data Privacy (DP) laws and regulations in multiple jurisdictions spanning the globe (excluding the USA). This includes completing DaVita International’s GDPR implementation across the EU in close cooperation with the existing project team. You will report to the General Counsel of DaVita International with a dotted line to line to VP Global Privacy & Data Governance who is based in the USA. You will have functional supervision over in-country DP Officers across the globe.

WHAT WILL BE YOU BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR?

  • To continue to build and develop the International framework with regards to DP
  • Monitoring and reporting DP breaches in coordination with local DP officers in each jurisdiction
  • To provide privacy risk management advice, strategic guidance and consultation to other functional lanes including Compliance, IT and People Services (HR)
  • Advising the International team on privacy risk and maintaining a privacy risk register
  • Perform audits in each jurisdiction to determine our compliance with local regulations
  • Develop and arrange for training on DP compliance for employees
  • Follow up with changes in law and issue recommendations to ensure compliance
  • Development and implementation of data protection policies and sharing best practices across the different jurisdictions
  • Liaise with US DP team on governance matters relating to international DP matters


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, licenses, certifications, and experience required to fulfill the essential duties.

  • Qualified Lawyer with extensive experience of data privacy law (including GDPR) in an international setting gained in private practice at a prominent law firm or in-house at an international organization
  • At least 5 years’ PQE
  • Proven experience conducting data privacy compliance audits and the design and implementation of improvement plans

  • Effectiveness and fluency in English (native or near native speaker level)
  • High energy and ability to work in a very fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Desire to be part of a fun, yet hard-working team
  • Experience in healthcare is a plus
  • Travel required: up to 30%
